Walking Rome
An unforgettable walk in Rome starting from Pantheon
One of the most interesting and nice walk we warmly recommend in the evening includes some of the most known areas of Rome. It actually combines the beauty and charm of Rome monuments with the life and the restaurants of the city. We do not intend to write details and history of each monument as everyone can easily get this kind of information through one of the many Rome’s guides. The aim of this article is indeed to suggest walks, places and tips from roman people and out of the main tourist paths usually available to foreign people.
Pantheon

Start your walk from this amazing place, one of the most ancient temples of Rome. Take the time to spend a few minutes in front of the building near the fountain in the middle of the square and breath the atmosphere of this enchanting monument.
Then move to the famous Bar Giolitti in Via degli Uffici del Vicario, 40, 00186 Roma +39066991243 where you will be able to taste the best ice cream of Rome.
Piazza Navona
Located at only two minutes walk from the Pantheon, this place is famous and appreciated all over the world for the Bernini’s fountain representing the 4 rivers in the middle of the square and of course for the Borromini’s Sant’Agnese in Agone church located just in front of the fountain.
The legend says Bernini and Borromini were rivals and one of the statues-river is keeping his hand over the forehead to express his repulsion for the church. The charm of this big square is also due to the street artists which constantly work in the square offering portraits or caricatures to the people. Behind Piazza Navona, in via del Governo Vecchio it is possible to have a dinner in a very old pizzeria – Da Baffetto via del Governo Vecchio 114. Roma +39066861617.
The atmosphere is familiar and informal: it often happen to eat too close to other people and the service is fast and hasty, but pizza and fritti cooked in the real traditions of Rome (thin and crisp) are really good and enough cheap. If you like to make a stop here and drink something a good place could be “La Vineria” – Piazza Campo Dè Fiori 15 –

Walk straight on till you will see the river Tevere in front of you. Cross the road and walk via Ponte Sisto (a walking bridge) till the opposite side of the river where you will access Piazza Trilussa and Trastevere.
